Due to unprecedented flooding along the Yellowstone River and its tributaries, Yellowstone National Park is closed to all visitors for at least the next two days. Our Institute group was set to fly out tomorrow morning. Thankfully, we were able to cancel the trip and are home safe and sound during an incredibly challenging time for Yellowstone and the surrounding communities. Our thoughts are with our many friends in the Yellowstone area as rivers crest and cleanup begins.

AUTHORHi Paola, thanks for your question! Unfortunately, we will not be able to make it to Yellowstone this summer with our group. As more information becomes available, it’s becoming increasingly clear that there is significant damage all across the northern part of Yellowstone and in the communities just outside the park in that area. The entire park will be closed for at least the next 5 days, and efforts are focused on evacuation for guests and support for local people and staff, many of whom are stranded and in some cases without power or drinking water. Much of the damage will take quite a while to repair. We hope to return with this group of educators in the summer of 2023.
